Wednesday October 10
10.10.2012 - 10.10.2012
We left Moab as the sun was lighting up the Western faces of the cliffs that surround it.
We drove through some incredible landscapes.
In 1962 my family and I went on a trip from Denver to Yellowstone. I remember really liking the brontosaurus on the Sinclair gas station signs.
We drove to the Colorado border and cut through the Southwestern corner of that state.
In New Mexico we drove past Shiprock.
Before arriving in Albuquerque we stopped at the Acoma Pueblo, the oldest continuously occupied town in the United States.
The man in black is Robert, our guide.
We stayed in Albuquerque with Anna who was Chantal's student when she fisrt started working as a teacher. Anna is second-generation Latvian and is committed to preserving her Latvian identity. We learned a lot about Latvia under the Soviet Union and after liberation in 1989.
